The count bought all the buildings for 22.500.000 lire. He promised to the habitants an environmental upgrading of Consonno with tourism and new job opportunities for everyone.

He started to build a new road witch connect Consonno with the rest of the world. However the road was used specifically for excavators and the easy transportation of materials; to build his idea of Consonno. The bulldozers start proceeding to displace large quantities of land and indiscriminate logging to create large

construction sites.

Il Conte per 22.500.000 lire comprò tutte le abitazioni. L'imprenditore parlò agli abitanti di turismo e di rivalutazione di Consonno, promettendo nuove possibilità di lavoro per tutti.

Cominciò inizialmente costruendo una nuova strada che doveva connettere con più facilità Consonno al resto del mondo. 

In realtà la strada che Il Conte voleva costruire era utile soprattutto per trasportare con più facilità ruspe e materiali per la costruzione della nuova Consonno. Le ruspe entrarono in azione procedendo allo spostamento di enormi quantità di terra e ad un indiscriminato disboscamento al fine di creare giganteschi cantieri.

In January 8th, 1962 The Count visited Consonno for the first time.

The count had a daring and revolutionary idea: to create a shopping center. Consonno was choosen for his good and panoramic position not too far to Milano, which was the most developed italian city at that ages.

Nel 8 gennaio 1962 arrivò a Consonno il Conte.

Il Conte aveva in testa un'idea rivoluzionaria e anticipatrice dei tempi; cioè di creare uno shopping center. La scelta ricadde su Consonno dato che il paese era in una posizione panoramica non molto distante da Milano, una delle città italiane che ha avuto la sua maggior fase di sviluppo durante il boom economico in Italia.

Consonno was a farmers' village until the 1970's.

It was not very populated because of the emigration to the metropolis.

However life in Cosonno was spent quietly,and nobody could have ever imagined, that shortly it would have been changed into a delirious utopia

Consonno fino agli anni 70 è stato un borgo di agricoltori.

Non era molto popolato a causa dell'immigrazione verso le città dovute al Boom economico Italiano.

La vita comunque scorreva serena e nessuno poteva immaginare che di lì a poco quel villaggio fuori dal mondo sarebbe stato teatro di una delirante utopia.

Consonno sorse probabilmente nel Medioevo e rimase un piccolo borgo agricolo di 200-300 abitanti fino agli anni quaranta ed era un insieme di terreni, boschi, fabbricati rurali e corsi d'acqua collegati al comune di Olginate tramite una lunga mulattiera. Il borgo esisteva già dal 1085 come appare in un documento in una pergamena conservata nell’archivio di stato di Milano:

[...] et alberga iugalium filia quondam Alberti de loco Cussonno, qui profesi sumus nos ipsos iugalex lege vivere Longobardorum”.

La chiesa dedicata a San Maurizio è molto antica, probabilmente alto medievale e l'adiacente casa del cappellano presenta sopra il portale d'ingresso un affresco, raffigurante lo stemma nobiliare di un abate commendatario di San Pietro al Monte.

Subito dopo la distruzione di Milano nel 1162,  Federico Barbarossa concesse all’abate di Civate Algisio tutti i possessi dell’abbazia ed interdiceva a tutti ogni ingerenza e potestà sulle cose e sugli uomini dell’abbazia. Consonno quindi entrò in possesso del monastero di Civate e ne rimase legato alle vicende dello stesso convento fino alla soppressione e allo scattare del XX secolo, il latifondo confluisce nella società “Immobiliare Consonno Brianza” delle famiglie Anghileri e Verga.

Consonno was probably built in the Middle Ages and remained a small agricultural village of 200-300 people until the forties. It was a group of fields, woods, farm buildings and waterways connected to the municipality of Olginate by a long trail through the woods. 

The village already existed since 1085: it appears in a parchment document kept in an archive in Milan:

[...] et dwells iugalium filia quondam Alberti de Cussonno site, here profesi sumus nos ipsos iugalex lege live Longobardorum "

The church of San Maurizio is very old, probably built in Middle Ages and the adjacent chaplain's house shows a fresco over the entrance portal depicting the coat of arms of an abbot of San Pietro al Monte.

Immediately after the destruction of Milan in 1162, Frederick Barbarossa granted the abbot of Civate Algisio all the possessions of the abbey and absolute independent powers over all the inhabitants of the abbey. Consonno then came into possession of the monastery of Civate and was linked to it's fate until the suppression and the taking of the twentieth century, when the area becomes an estate named "Immobiliare Consonno Brianza" belonging to the families Anghileri and Verga.
